Yes, it got fairly dark didn’t it? If deciding to take a painting beyond purely impressionistic, which I usually do, one of the biggest challenges in all my recent paintings is: after adding mid and dark tones, bringing back some of the light, color and energy that occurred during the first hour. Trying to find a balance between straight-out expressionist/impressionist, abstract and realism. Thanks for comments V. I take it you do prefer the lighter versions?
