Studying shades of dark and light are the basics of any Artwork done with color,  and it’s good to practice “real” drawing every so often, paying attention to lines, shapes, spaces…but enough of pencil drawings for a while. I’m craving color and space once more- ready to paint again, but starting this so close to the date we leave for holidays this coming Friday. My hope is to call it finished while it’s still at the open and lively stage, before over-working it.  Here is the painting after about two hours.

    Hi April,
The email address you left isn’t working, so I can only hope you will write back and elaborate on your comment, because I’m interested to hear more about your opinion. Comments like yours are always helpful, but more effective if you could leave some advice or suggestions as to what you think might work, or another direction I might take.
Every new piece is an experiment; some work, some don’t, some sell, many won’t. Creativity and “Art” is all about constant efforts to stay open-minded and try whatever you can, finding ways to keep work energetic and cutting edge. The most common trait in my work is that I’m open to changing it, and I often go down with the ship, but every effort contributes to the next work which may end up being successful. If you are an Artist, the best advice I can offer is to keep trying new things if you think they might enhance your work. This one was completed in Oct.2007…have a look…what are your comments for these changes?
