There is a time for work and a time to relax.
This truck sharing the road on the way back from North Carolina was not parked…this guy was driving 70mph down the highway!
I’m just back from NC then up to Alberta soon, so no new artwork to post until about the end of July.
This photo was taken just outside of Nashville where we stopped to take photos of the trees draped with vines, naturally occurring topiary – amazing - looking like animals and people turned into forest. Those were cool enough, and the tire skid marks were an extra unexpected find. The photo has been turned into a black and white, then a colored portion from the bottom was superimposed on top of that…my favorite digital trick.
Now one last trip for this year, driving to California and the Giant Redwoods – back on the 13th.
Speeding By The Poppies on Hwy 40, Tennessee – 11 x 14 Oil Pastels – framed, available
Critique received that this was not dynamic enough, (below, Sept. 30, 2006 version). The drawing was at a fragile stage where I was 95% happy with it, but still the critique was valid. Above: I carefully scraped a few more lines in and highlighted some that were already there but not as prominent.
