Drawing for The Perfection of Small Birds, by Poet Hannah Gerber, http://www.buy.com/search/q/loc/106/search_store/3/querytype/books/hannah+gerber.html
Chickadee #1 - 8 x 10 charcoal on paper - the space of the paper is considered as much as the charcoal applied.
Hannah was only looking for cover Art, but usually when asked to do only one design, a lot of preliminary sketches are presented also, as a way of warming up, but also to give clients a selection, so some extras were also used on inside pages.
