December colors

Some of the veggies have grown exceptionally well during December, and not so much during the summer this year, like this pepper. Gardening in the south is a whole other experience compared to the North – positive because of extended growing seasons, but negative because I haven’t been successful at growing a number of things here - so far anyway, like cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes. It’s not the soil, because that has been built up – could be it gets too hot too fast, but I try new tactics every year, like potting vegetables instead of growing them in the ground. The neighborhood rabbits also munch away at certain things, like sweet potatoes and a number of flowering annuals.
